ha! well, good photographers can do both! its enough effort for me to focus stack the flower (imperfectly, to boot), and my computer hates me already. in the future i want to do more exposure blending, but for now you will just have to imagine what the leaves look like!!! :)

hey katzen, yes, we would like to get there and not have to destroy the flowers. how can you see if you got the pollen in the right spot? is it just by feel and experience? thanks!

ahh, the devil's always in the details i suppose! also these plants that Wichmann has (where we got it and what is shown on their site) has this frill to the petals which i don't see on other examples. also, these seem t express more yellow than others, especially in the pouch and staminode...

hahah, do people actually care about the foliage?! just kidding :) well, the leaves are quite dark and I didn't feel like trying to blend shots to show it. if I metered for the foliage then the flower is super blown out and overexposed, so I chose the flower instead!

im curious if anyone has had petals that form/grow weird as a result of having directional light on the plant when it is in bud? I think this waving flower is because I turned the plant slightly before opening and the light was coming strongly from one side. but, let us know if you think that...

    European flasking services

hello s.t. folks, just wondering if anyone has suggestions on flaskers in europe. preferably the mainland (or e.u.). we have had luck finding one and they have been providing good feedback, but just curious and hope to avoid the "all eggs in one basket" scenario. so, any suggestions, hive...

yeah it did spread out a lot after the photo, and the petals swept back a LOT! sort of the sweep we were hoping to see on a hennisianum. thank you! it is always a struggle for me to get good pics of white flowers.... yup, I thought the same myself, but the label it came with ids it as var...
