    Ecuagenera is puzzling us again.

I winder if it would be possible to fils e a class-action suit against Ecuagenera for fraud?

    Ecuagenera is puzzling us again.

Yeah, def isn't what it's labeled. They're getting really bad now; 1/3-1/2 their plants are mislabeled and they won't do anything about it. They just don't give a damn.

    Another Round of Paphiopedilum Flasks

What types of crosses (or species) are these?

    Cyp. kentuckiense

The largest flowered N.American cyp, this was first noted in 1939 barely 100 miles south from my home city of Columbus (though not formally described until decades later) in Kentucky (of course), but apparently is not found north of the Ohio river. Grown outside as all my cyps in a pot in cyp...

    Cyp.parviflorum, larger flowered form

The yellow is a beacon from all the way across the yard. Three 3" flowers this year. As are all of my cyps, it's in a gallon sized plastic pot in cyp mix, sunk into a raised bed in my yard. The raised bed and pot are necessary as our "soil" here is comprised only of compressed clay, rock, and...

    Cyp.macranthos 'Orchid Court' CCM/AOS

It's Roger Zelazny's from Raising Rarities. Granite grit, perlite, peat (fine, not chunks), and a bit of oystershell. I usually put a layer of gravel or large bark in the bottom to hold the mix in as the holes in the bottoms of the 1 gallon pots are so large.

    Cyp.macranthos 'Orchid Court' CCM/AOS

A nicely dark colored form of this species, stays compact and floriferous. Grown in a pot in a cyp. mix, sunk into a raised bed outside here in Ohio at 40ºN. Midday sun, filtered otherwise.

    Cyp. japonicum

Thanks. The flower in your pic seems identical to mine.

    Cyp. japonicum

First to blooom for me this year at 40ºN in central Ohio. I've had it a few years and so far bloomed each year. Flower almost 4" across on a 10" tall plant. Grown in a plastic pot sunk into a raised bed outside, beside the greenhouse.

    Taiwanese Rothschildianum 2024

One of the better roths I've seen; the most important thing is the petals stance is almost horizontal. I personally would not even award most of the roths more recently awarded; they've had decades to breed for horizinbtal petals and have ignored it completely. The hang-down look of motst roths...

    strange Paphiopedilum delenatii foliage

Can you post a pic of one of these in flower with both the flower and foliage clearly visible please?

    Paph. delenatii album

So glad this turned out to be delenatii album; somehow it had lost its tag and since I couldn't find my delenatii album and the foliage looked appropriate I had tentatively put that name in the pot. A nice one, at that!

    hirsutissimum album

How long has that flower been open? I see none of the usual twisting in the petals.

    Paph.malipoense

This has been 'in spike' since July and opened at the end of February, not an uncommon thing for the species. Large and well-colored and marked. I only wish it were a more robust grower. It has remained a one-growth plant for years, though it has bloomed every other year or so, and I am hoping...
