yellow stuff in Aloe vera

any one else break open aloe leaves to find a neon yellow substance instead of the clear-ish substance they were expecting? happens to me sometimes. i tried to do a little research online and came up with it as bitter aloe, a second liquid that acts as a sap. if i cut the leaf i don't get the neon yellow.
any thoughts?
