This bloom's only been open for not more than 3 days and it already has those brown spots/areas. Is it normal for this hybrid to wilt soo fast? Or do you guys think it's caused by something else. It's so that something so beautiful would wilt in such short time. :(

vietnamense is supposedly a short-lived bloom. In my experience, Ho Chi Minh is good for 2-3 weeks, not long for a paph, but still not too bad. Its possible that yours just inherited early senescence from the vietnamense parent, or maybe environmentla conditions were'nt right, say, too much ethylene...was it a first bloom seedling? Take care, Eric

Wish it'd last 2-3 weeks. It's so pretty, seeing it deteriorating is just sad... I don't know if there's ethylene gas present because i have other plants in bloom that don't look affected. :(

Those other plants in bloom may be the source of the ethylene.....Take care, Eric

The first time my Ho Chi Minh bloomed, it wilted in less than two weeks. This year, it's been open for more than two weeks and so far still looks good. Have heart!
