This blossom is my first re-blooming of Paph. 'Booth's St. Bern x Baby Gland' from Windyhill Farms. One of the blossoms has a spike of tissue sticking out. The other blossom does not. What's up? Just curious. Thanks for any information. Here's a photo of the pouch:

I've seen many plants with this happen occasionally. It just has a pimple...perhaps it occurred during bud development

I'm not sure why it happens. I think it only happens on hybrids mostly, but I might be wrong. A Paph. St Swithin entered into a show had every bloom with pimples...probably genetic in that plant.

Pimples are very common...hopefully, its a one time occurrence. Sometimes, its a permanent feature...I used to have an "ang thong" that always bloomed with pimples...sometimes it had so many that it looked like the pouch had teeth. Take care, Eric
