Does the Betty's Bay refer to the town in South Africa?

Cool. It is a very beautiful part of South Africa. Disa orchid viewing is readily accessible in the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens at Betty's Bay.
Absolutely wonderful display and photo. Thank you for sharing. How do you grow?

California Carnivores. Last summer was the only time I saw it for sale anywhere in the states.

Oh I love these. Especially the photo of several at once.
You can get regular U. bisquamata pretty easily, but the Betty’s Bay cultivar is a particularly showy cultivar.
I have always grown mine sitting in a saucer of distilled water but it hasn’t flowered since I moved. I may need to dry it out a little.
Very hard to find this cultivar still. I waited a good 6+ years to find one

I don't know why. Damn thing grows like a weed.

Most of those semi-aquatic ones grow like weeds. If you can tell, the leaves are so small you can't see them through the moss. The only way I know mine are doing well is when the flowers come out. Which is most of the time, they bloom a lot.
