Large spotted red bulldogs:

Star Scream= Hagrid x Pacific Challenger
Entered into the AOS judging last week but was screened out. I love this clone- a keeper for me! This is its 3rd bloom.

NS= 15 cm for 1st bloom (short stem though)!

The NS is 14.2 cm (the first bloom was smaller; the 2nd bloom about the same size as this 3rd bloom). There is one awarded clone from the AOS (from the Orchid Inn; 11.5 cm NS I think but has big bold spots; picture link here); several were awarded by JOGA (about the same NS as my clone, except one, which has a 16 cm NS).

I agree. Both blooms are nice.

Although I'm not an AOS judge, I believe "screened out" refers to a kind of pre judging where the judges decide which orchids to score for a possible award and which ones not to score.

You usually do not judge a plant by AOS standards if it doesn't advance the standard of the awards.
