Two nice complexes

Both of these are first blooms.

First is Ernest Hetherington x Queen of Hearts, so a pretty introgressed hybrid of Winston Churchill and Valwin a great deal of color from Jim Iverson, a nice deep red. Dorsal is a little cuppy, but a wonderful flower from a weak plant, NS 11.0 cm, PW 6.2 cm.

Second I got from Glen Decker, a cross of Amazing World x (Small World x Hoopla) originally from Ratcliffe's. This has a ton of Small World in it; that's where the color and good form come from. Small World is a cross of Beaute and Maori, and I just found a piece of Maori 'Oaklands' and am very excited about that. This is a commanding flower, 12.5 cm NS, 6.1 cm PW. Should be awarded when it flowers right.

These pix were the ends of these flowers - I cut them off the plants before taking the photos. Such is the fate of first-bloom flowers sometimes...
