Is anybody else having trouble posting photos? Even though I'm doing the same thing I've always done, I can't get photos to appear. :(

I'm using my own website. It worked fine in the past. My recent photos of my album barbigerum etc., are there and those photos are still showing up in my threads here. I even tried to copy the URL of other people's photos and insert the photos in my thread, just as a test to see if I could still do it. I should be able to. However, the same thing. It doesn't work.

I've spent hours and hours on this! VERY frustrating! I have tried to do what I've always done....and all sort of other methods. Nothing works. Could this have something to do with Windows 10?

    Anybody? Help!

Does the link to the image work if you paste it is your browser to open the image from your web server?
OR is the problem only with the forum code?

Thanks Lance. I just tried that. It does not work if I paste the URL of a photo on my website, into my browser. Even the photos that I posted in ST a few weeks ago, which are still showing in my barbigerum album thread, do not open if I copy and paste the URL into my browser...yet, they do still show up in my thread. Very confusing.

    You're welcome John.

Since the link is not working from your server that suggests there is a problem with your hosting account. You should contact your web host tech support. maybe The folders you upload images to have gotten the sharing settings switched off.

The old images probably show because they are stored as online cache.

If you want paste a link to one of the new photos here and I'll try to imbed the link in a post from me. that will show if there is something wrong on the SlipperTalk side.

Here I got the link from one of your images in a previous post. The image showed in the old thread.

    I will insert it here:

p.s. Notice that "charlie" at the end is broken up into "char lie". But, there is no space. I have no idea why it's showing up with that space on the post. If I click on "edit" and go to delete the space, it's not there.

The link definitely does not work. Either it is not written correctly to link to the file on your server or there is a problem with the server settings. To resolve that you should contact the hosting tech support.

On your webpage do you keep your images in a gallery or in a folder? If you have gallery software that may be the cause of the new link problem.

This is the link you posted:

    www.orchidscanada.com/DSC06742-2%20%20Cattleya%20jenmanii%20v.%20Fantasia%20'Char lie'.jpg

This is the link I took from your gallery:

    http://www.orchidscanada.com/DSC06742-2%20%20Cattleya%20jenmanii%20v.%20Fantasia%20'Charlie'.JPG

There is two errors in the first link.
    1. the space in 'Char lie'
    2. the .jpg should be in caps .JPG

Remove the space and use caps and the link works.
BUT there might be a problem showing with the forum code.

    http://www.orchidscanada.com/DSC06742-2%20%20Cattleya%20jenmanii%20v.%20Fantasia%20'Charlie'.JPG

When I pasted the above link there is no space in Charlie. But when I save the edit the forum is inserting the space so the link does not work.

In a new post pasting in the link using the image insert icon it works.

So the problem is created within the SlipperTalk code by somehow inserting the space and not allowing it to be removed when an edit is saved.

    Test with changes to link......

    Hey! It works now!

    Try again with another.

    Works again!

Thank you Lance. The issue was this: When Photobucket got nasty, I started parking photos on a "gallery" page on my website. However, when I right clicked on the photo and then left click on "properties", to get the photo URL, the box with the URL that comes up would not highlight the text and let me copy it. I'm guessing this is an "improvement" in Windows 10, which is new to me. So, I got around the problem by left clicking on "Save As". In the file name field, I could highlight and copy the photo code info. However, it was missing the ".JPG" at the end and the "www.orchidscanada.com/" at the front. So, I had to type that info in, then highlight the whole thing and copy it and use that to paste into the box that comes up when I click on the insert photo icon here at ST. However, as you've figured out, when I was not getting the results I wanted, I was using lower case letters for .jpg and I should've used upper case (.JPG). I am not having the issue with the space in "Charlie". That problem seems to have been resolved automatically. So, it's all good now. Thanks very much for taking the time to help out. I appreciate it!
