Maybe from the column and adjacent area? Otherwise one would think that aureo- or flavococcineum is a more appropriate designation for these wonderfully coloured and interesting flowers!

Btw. orchidspecies.com has photos of flowers, that more clearly adheres to the speciesname with differently coloured tepals and a relatively large/broad lip with a smaller, central coccineum colouring and a profound white covering the rest of the lip.

I wonder, whether Djth's clone somehow is a vinicolor form of the species?
