Southland Orchid Show and AOS Fall meeting

Here is a picture of the display I put in at this past weekend's show. It was inspired by the Japanese miniature dish gardens that I saw at the Japan Tokyo Dome show. It is in a tray about 20" square and the tree branch rises to about 30" tall. The style includes many genera with many colors mixed in. They sometimes included little birds or animals, but I thought that was a bit too artificial! They also do not include plant labels as that would destroy the style and look of the display.
It won a Gold Medal trophy for best individual table top display:
