I just bought this one as a select quality plant from Paph Paradise. It got a little beat up in shipping and was in dire need of repotting so I snapped a couple of quick picks and cut the spike. I'm looking forward to see what it can do on the next bloom.

Beautyful!
Wouldn't it have been possible to to let the spike at the plant? I repotted already several Paphs in bloom without any problems.

I could have left it, but the flowers were a bit beat up from shipping and the root system wasn't as big as I would like after I cleaned it up. I'd rather cut and get it growing again than waste time and energy on flowers that are past their prime.

We are looking very much foreward to see the next flowering!

And concerning the cutting back of the flowers before repotting...I would in this instance have done exactly what you did, Tony...
Not to say, that I haven't once in a while succesfully repotted a couple of paphs in bud, if not in flower... But with plants already having suffered the stress of being handled through the mail service, I would never dare to - I allways wait till the flowering is over or do as you did!

Kind regards, Jens
