Is that a phaius next to the roths in one of the pictures?

I'm not sure which pic, but they were growing with some Phaius, Acanthephippium and also other terrestrials..

Are they getting hand pollinated? It looks like there are tags on the flower stems?

I'm not sure, Robert, but I think the staff at the conservatory may be pollinating them. I did not see a lab (maybe in other areas) but hope they are germinating the seed for reintroduction.

What about the Phal species at these places?

There were a few phal species; modesta, fuscata, violacea, amabilis and gigantea, but were not in full flower.
 
Amazing pics

I climbed Kinabalu and saw Poring and Sandukan last year. Amazing island Borneo. I think you have just made my mind up for me as to my next trip --Kinabalu beckons again
