Hi, can you tell from the photos if it's a real Paph liemianum species or a look a like cross made by hybridizing?

It looks like liemianum, and mottled leaves! I might be wrong, but I think only leimianum can come with mottled leaves in this section of paphiopedilum?

The thing is hybrids among cochlo can be nearly impossible to tell apart.

Beautiful flower, by the way! :)

Yep, measures 3" cross, a little bigger than most? But the dark hairs are known for the species I thought.

I don't think there is any feature that eliminates it as being liemianum.
However, that doesn't eliminate that it is a hybrid with heavy liem influence.

Excellent!!, I've seen liemanums with 36" mottled leaves, could not beleive it was a liemanum, it was at an aos event, I'm pretty sure a bunch of judges would not overlook that

Flower is still growing, today it reached 3.5"

I can't believe this guy is still growing, I kept it in my office, after the weekend, I looks visibly bigger.

Took out the ruler, sure it is, almost 4"

haha I gave mine in bud to Eric, and I just bought a new younger plant.
Crazy me. I hope this newer plant won't get as big, not that the older one was that big, but bigger than I wanted.

can't wait for the flowers, although they all pretty much look very much alike.

Yours is nice whether it is "pure" or mixed. No one will ever know as long as they look very similar to the type flower, which this one does.

It doesn't look like mine will get much bigger, the leaves stayed the same for a while now & new growth is emerging.

I won't mind if the spike gets tall, plenty of rm at this office window.
