Bought in bud to Popow (Germany) but probably a plant from OZ (USA)

The 1st flower was a little rounder but this 2nd one was cultivated warmer so the form is less good.

But if not old stock, it's probably not the last generation. And it's a good thing for me because I don't like the current OZ breeding line, always bigger, rounder, ...
Not my cup of tea, I lost the besseae spirit.
 
I think your besseae is PERFECT...color, form and a classic.
I'm with you on the trend in breeding for roundness. I
don't think every flower has to be round. I see absolutely
nothing wrong with the natural look of besseae.
 
Again in bloom.

Near perfection in my taste. Selection gave the flat flower and a little rounder but this flower keep the natural form. That's the besseae "spirit"!

If I searched very round and big flower, I would buy an hybrid! :eek:
