The cross is Phrag Tall Tails ‘Tail-full’ x Memoria Dick Clements ‘Cardinal’. I bought it many years ago, and this is its first blooming. It isn't registered yet right?

I, too, thought the petals would be longer. Maybe it's better that they're not, I like it this way! Is Tall Tails hard or slow to bloom? If so MDC will hopefully change that!

I was similarly suprised about the petal length. I was expecting a droopy petaled red phrag.

It does grow fairly quickly though it seems to require multifple growths before bloom. This was its second spike before it actually bloomed. Last year it blasted.
