Evidently Windy Hill has Magic Tresses, or so I'm told but you know how that goes. I am planning on contacting her because I am going down to St. Louis in May for some sort of a seminar. I'm meeting up with a few people while I am down there to tour Missouri Botanical Gardnes and when I saw that her nursery was down in that area and that she was buddies with Leo, I knew for sure I wanted to make time to stop in.
Bloomfield Orchids is one I am not familiar with. I'll go look that one up. The other two I checked.
I have a new slipper lust list as of today. I did go shopping with goldenrose and as always, had a blast with her. I didn't spend as much as I wanted to spend though. I had called before I went down there and I thought they had Paph Primcolor, Phrag Magic Tresses, Phrag Grassau, Phrag Albopurpureum, and one other that I had asked about but when I got down there they either were sold out or couldn't find them which happens. They did have a Phrag popowii and I thought the man had said he had pulled a popowii for me but when I got home, I didn't have it. I wasn't charged for it but I still didn't have one which was a real big downer. That's what you get when you're not paying attention when they're ringing you up- I took off to take some photos! On the positive side, I had a good time down there and picked up the Phrag Amazonica from Peru that I wanted really bad as well as P. Richteri and Paph venustum album.
I'm going to call Terry Partin to see if he has anything I am looking for. Chances are good that he very well may have quite a bit of what I am looking for which would mean one stop shopping plus a chance to see him and his wife. I forget the name of his nursery though.
editing to add-
struck out at Bloomfields. Ruby Slippers must not be too popular any longer.
