Phrag red lightning x living fire

A first bloom on a freebie seedling plants from Asendorfer. Unfortunately it may well be the last as the plant is battling some rot.
Red lightning is Sorcerer’s apprentice x besseae and living fire is sargentianun x popowii.
Little of the 25% besseae is visible in this flower and the 75% of the long petalled species is dominant.

The petals are 17cm long and may well grow a bit more. The flower is 24cm tall so a good size for a first bloom,

I've never grown any of the long petaled Phrags but this one is very appealing to me. Very nice!

Try cinamon? What about s/h growing culture? May be a little dryer condition but still provide adequate moisture?

Linus, I am afraid that it’s too late. I cut out what I could find and treated with dragons blood and cinnamon but it’s come back and is now over the whole growth.
It’s a shame as it’s a vigorous grower but it’s not the end of the world as it is not what I would normally grow. Green and brown flowers are definitely not my thing.
