Phrag. pearcei 'Birchwood' HCC/AOS

Awarded in 1988, this little gem continues to reward us every summer with a beautiful display of flowers. Photographed this morning in a sunny greenhouse, this species is perfect for the Phrag. lover with limited space.

Isn't pearcei a darling plant and a wonderful bloomer. My pearcei has three blooms open
now and the pearcei 'Pink' should open in a couple of days. Sooo cute!

Just an FYI; this clone was originally awarded as Phrag. ecuadorense and the species epithet was changed to reflect modern thinking.

Just anecdotally, my ecuadorense 'Si' is nothing even close in
appearance to pearcei. Perhaps I have a misidentified plant. I've been
considering pitching ecuadorense for non performance with close to ideal
conditions for the plant. Now I have no idea what it really is...oh my.

FYI I can never get photos to open by clicking on the photo. I clink on the numbers underneath it and it opens right up.

Tom, I swear I will buy a camera for you for next Christmas.You send us your pics of your exeptional plants, but I can t see deatails and this drives me crazy.....anyway I have to lift my hat...

Yes. These are two or three growth divisions and the price would be $85 per growth plus shpg. bare root w roots wrapped in damp NZ sphagnum. Thanks.
