Saved some pollen for Phrag. humboldtii which is in bud now.

How do you store the pollen? Do you freeze it or just keep it in the fridge? In your experience how long does it remain viable?

I have a Phrag in bloom I'd like to use for breeding and several spikes on the way. I have flasking experience but not with Phrags.

We store pollen in the fridge in #000 gelatin capsules (available on eBay and inexpensive) using a fine point Sharpie to date and ID the capsule contents. We've used pollen as long as eleven months after collecting it. The two capsule halves fit together tightly enough to reduce drying out of the pollen. Hope this helps.
