This one was made with P. besseae frma. flavum. The shape is pretty atrocious, but the colour is very neat. I ended up not keeping though because of the poor form.

Was this the first flower? Sometimes subsequent flowers/blooms are better. I've also noticed, with Phrags, that occasionally even a good plant will produce malformed flowers. Could be culture, could be genetic -- I don't know

I think getting rid of it was the best thing to do. It has so many flaws, its unlikely that all of them would be corrected on the next blooming.

The color is great!

That's what I thought. I let three buds open and they were all like that so i just dumped it. I have a whole compot from the cross and so i figured more should bloom with similar colouring. In fact, one did bloom with very similar colouring, but i broke the spike before the flower fully opened so i'll have to wait until the next blooming to see what it looks like.
