I bought Agristrep (Ferti-Lome Fire Blight) from the USA and I had to have it shipped in the USA and drive there to pick it up because no one was shipping it to Canada. So no clue where to buy that in Canada. It is agricultural stuff but they sell it for general public like this package from ebay (does not ship to Canada). This is the stuff I bought.

The active ingredient is Streptomycin sulfate 21.2% which is the same exact thing as in Agri-strep.

I bought from this store online and got it shipped to a US depot in vermont.

Some ebay sellers also have it:

And some info available in pdf format from the manufacturer:

Thank you, Daniella! Although we should be careful with antibiotics (as we know about the shitty situation about the resistance in human disease), it is a good tool to have an access to. I have been saving up antibiotics from doctors, but I'm going to get this one, too!

My casual look-around showed that some strains of Pectobactreium (Erwinia) chrysanthemi extracted from Dendrobium is already Streptomycin resistant.

But it was effective for another strain (from Phalaenopsis) at 500ppm but not at 250ppm. You probably need higher concentration than this for spraying. Using a weak concentration is a good way to select for resistance.

I had an erwinia problem on a couple of plants and used
Dragon's Blood and it worked really well. You might have
to beat the bushes for Lance (gone wild), but his stuff
works quickly. I tried just about everything mentioned in
this thread and most of them never worked at all or worked temporarily.

Thank you for your advice.

I followed phraggy's bleach water advice. I also bought some pool algæcide as it was recommended to be similar to Physan 20. I have been spraying this every couple of days on and around the plants.

Does it look like this could be an effective product?

This sounds like a true panacea...So it works just applied topically? After removing the infected tissue?

Does it come from overseas? How much does it cost?

Also, will you be at the Kentucky show and sale next weekend? Do you know who I would need to contact about bringing a plant to show off? I have a Vanda Pachara Delight with twelve spikes coming into bloom that I feel people should see. :)

Ok it's been a few weeks, here's where we are:

There is still some discoloration, but nothing seems to be advancing.

So is it that the plant has erwinia populations inside it for its entire life, and it just flares up from time to time?
