A lovely flower and colour but shouldn't dalessandroi have multiple spikes?

Ed

it's a first flowering. I have another one that may be branched. It's got a much stronger spike. But I still like this one a lot.

NICE! What is that mix you have it in? This species ranges from orange to red? Does besseae have orange tones as well?

It's my Aussie Gold mix topped by sphagnum moss. I found that besseae and dalessandroi, and a few other phrags like to have it constantly wet at the base of the leaves. The besseae I've seen range to red to orange-red. This is the first dalessandroi I flower and it is truly orange. It reminds me of the rising sun with yellow-orange clouds around it.

Yay besseae! Denis will kick my butt one day. :p Lovely plant. bring it to the Orchidphiles show for me to see.

Will do Eric if it's still in flower. I have another dalessandroi that should be in flower as well, this one with at least one branch along the main spike.:)
