One of our favorites, this Bolivian species is found growing alongside streams, on limestone, sandstone or red clay, often below the high water mark (according to Cribb in his excellent book Slipper Orchids of the Tropical Americas). We grow this species in shallow trays of rain water approx. 1 inch deep and add a small amount of Pcar-2.JPG powdered dolomite to the potting mix.
