Eric Young 'Rocket Fire' 4N x schlimii 'Isolde'
Purchased as a seedling from Orchid Inn in 2013. This is its first flower and it's a bit marked on the dorsal from some aphid damage.

That's a really beautiful bloom. I have a Cape Sunset
(Eric Young 4N 'Haley Suzanne' x schlimii 'E.Y.O.F') that
seems to be frozen in mid-spike. The spike is about 6"
tall and I can feel a bud in there, but it seems stuck. Have you ever experienced this??? I'm beginning to
dislike EYOF and 4N Phrags. because they tend to be
extremely quirky.

Congratulations! Mine is a large plant and putting out
new growths. I've been considering cutting the stuck
spike and let the new growths grow faster maybe?

Two of my Cape Sunset did the same thing. The spikes stuck in the middle spike for about 4 weeks and then get faster.
