I suspect this photo needs some color correction. That said, I remember that Glen Decker, in a talk I attended, said that breeders use longifolium to impart reds.

As a comment on judging, provided the twist is even in both petals, it shouldn't make any difference. Its the nature of the beast and common in both parents.
I too was wondering about the color, its very good if it is true and not caused by the photography.

Try moving them to higher light or maybe they are just now mature enough ?
