These flowers are from the same clone.

This was the first bloom produced in warmer conditions - photo taken August 31:



This is the latest and last flower on the spike The photo was taken January 1st:



The petal blemish is unfortunate, but the flower segments are fuller. The color is a bit darker as well, but lighting conditions were different, so it doesn't appear that way.

The cooler temps can really make a difference in these. Both blooms are lovely but the shape and color in January are stunning.

Is this a first time bloomer? I am wondering if some of the shape changes are also influenced by maturity.

I have had the plant for several years. It's OZ breeding - Z6819 ('Bleeding Heart' x 'Colossal').
 
Are you saying these are flowers from the same spike i.e. it's been blooming for 4 months?
