I'm looking for a division of this 'Chinook'. I don't care if it's 'Chinook' or not,
but I'm losing the very old one I have and am heartbroken. I suspect it's dying
of old age: I've had it for 20 or more years. Any suggestions will be deeply
appreciated.

No new growths? I’d look at the pot environment. I’m not aware of sympodial plants dying of old age. Individual growths, sure, but the new growths carry the colony on.

So far no new growths. I keep hoping and snooping. I can't think of
any reason for the deterioration...repotted 9/19 in the mix it's always
been in. Mix is Orchiata, charcoal and perlite and no pests that I
can see. The monster has never been divided and is in a12" clay
pot. I'm flummoxed and very, very sad.

Same temps. for the last 20 years of regular blooming...average 55F-75F.
A bit lower in winter and plenty of humidity and air movement 24/7.
I did find a division at Woodstream along with a few friends. First time
order from Bill and very satisfied with the divisions he sent.

So... what'd you get???

The albo 'Barbara' AM/AOS, Achental 'Fall River', Eumelia Arias,
Beaumont Bayswater AM/AOS and a little bonus plant because
the Inca Embers 'Barnard Creek' had a bit of rot and he didn't
want to send it. Kudos for honesty in my estimation.

I almost got the Beaumont 'Bayswater' with my last order. Should be a stunner. They really have some great plants it is easy to get carried away, had to stop myself with the last offering due to space constraints. I agree, I had a little issue with some plants and Bill was helpful in dealing with it. Love the bonus plant policy, "dealer's choice" is one of my favorite philosophies to live by. I got a longifolium var. gracile with my last order as the bonus plant. I am up to 8 different clones of longifolium at this point. Anything in bud or spike?

I think I've got six longifoliums and love every one of them.
As I've said to Eric, I don't have a camera; I'm not going to buy a
camera and I emphatically do not want a camera...loooong
story. There it is.
