Phalaenopsis gigantea 'Shreveport Spring'
(gigantea 'Pau-Hwa' AM-CCM/OSROC X gigantea 'KS #2')

We have this plant for 9 years. It's probably 13 years old. this year flower count is reduced due to reduced light/cold winter keeping shade cloth covered. However flowers look better than last year. Form is good, as well as texture. OSROC = Orchid Society of Republic of China - equivalent to TOGA Taiwan Orchid Grower Association today.

This plant is flowering now - and available for purchase via our online store.

Hi Dot, Phal gigantea can flower twice a year. They are not sequential bloomer in the sense that new buds continue to form at the tip of existing inflorescence. All buds seem to open at once, 1-2 weeks apart. But like Angela mentioned, I leave the old inflor. on the plant and when condition is right, the plant will rebloom.

Dot, if you don't have at least one gigantea, you need to have one. One of
the nice things about gigantea is you can slap it in a basket, hang it sideways and it doesn't crowd your bench space. As you can see from Mr.
Lin's photos, the leaves and flowers are stunning. It also blooms quite
a bit!
