Currently in bloom is this Phal appendiculata, probably my favorite mini phal species. It has been flower for since April, but I didn't get a good picture until now.

Wonderful species. Before I took a break I was looking for this species all over. Difficult to find in the U.S. You've rekindled that fire.

O.k., I've been had or this is a very special appen. Mine
is very different in color and general shape. Perhaps mine
has been mis-identified. Do you detect any fragrance?
I have a tagged modesta that looks a good bit like your
photo and has no fragrance. A modesta I had long ago
smelled like grape kool-aid. Hmmmmm...

Thanks all.

Marco, I'll keep you posted. The fruit on this species supposedly sets faster than other phal species so it shouldn't be too long.

I've not heard/read of appendiculata being fragrant. This one doesn't have a scent.

My modesta smells more like a vanilla cake, but I can see where it can be a bit grapey. The mother of all grapey scents has to be corningiana!

This is definitely more Anthocyanin C (blue) than any other app I have seen; although admittedly I haven't seen a whole lot of them. ;-)
