Australia's answer to Phrag Sorcerer's Apprentice :)

This is a variety of tankervilliae which I currently have in my small shadehouse to protect the flowers from the biteys :). Phais T is also known as the swamp orchid and culture is remarkably similar to the wet loving phrags other than that this is a tropical plant that doesn't take cold spells (wet) all that well.

The plant is multi growth standing approximately two feet tall at this stage but I've seen one with flower spike that was two metres (about 6 and a half feet) tall. The flower spike on my plant is about 4 foot tall with over 10 flowers all looking like the photo above. The flowers have lasted about 3 weeks and are around 4 inches across and tall. I've selfed this plant just to see how it'll work out. Gordon has advised he'll flask as there aren't too many on the market - This plant would do well in medium to bright shade with a damp but porous substrate.

Cheers
Stephan
