I thought I would post my Paphiopedilum superbiens var curtisii pics that were taken under different lighting sources. Notice the emerald glow of the dorsal sepal that seem to become more iridescent under the various types of light (T5 6400K bulbs, natural light, combined T5/natural light, in that order). The dark brown lip makes the contrasts even more. I like the way the petal tips reflex back, hanging like earrings against the emerald green tiara. Very regal looking flower. From Sumatra (Indonesia).

It's superbiens var. curtisii time here at the moment. Very nice as well as the others that have been showing here. You must be very ipressed by this flower becaus you discribe it very poetically. Interesting how the sight of a flower chanches under different light. The photos are all very nice but to be honest,I like the first one best.
