Paphiopedilum hangianum x bellatulum

This is a first bloom of a Paph purchased for me by a friend at Redlands. It had a bud when it was shipped and I didn't expect it to bloom but here it is.

The patterning and color in the petals is beautiful, looks like a keeper to me.

It must have huge parents as the weight of the flower is not supported by the stem. I have wired the ovary to bamboo for support. It did receive stem length improvement.
