Grand Chupacabra
Paphiopedilum Franz Glanz 'Yellow Snow' (emersonii x armeniacum)
I've posted this one before, it's nothing special, but I managed to photograph it while fresh before the petals recurved like they normally do and the color mellows out after a few days to a week of opening.
I've had this plant awhile, and it's been an easy grower and pretty reliable bloomer. Last time I repotted, it split into multiple growths which I potted up separately. This is the first time it bloomed on a single growth plant (there's a tiny new growth started). The spike is weak, so it has to be staked.
This is a pretty compact grower, and while the flower isn't huge, it's proportionately quite large. There's a faint scent during the daytime, nothing to write home about.
I'm giving it the clonal name of Yellow Snow. Because it fits, and I think it's hilarious.
