Paphiopedilum dianthum 'Diane-thum'

seeing as some folks here are barred from Slipper Orchid Forum, I thought I'd share this here as well... oke:

in November I purchased this plant at an auction and paid the sum of 90 aussie bucks... that's roughly about 75US

I figure I got a bargain... (it's the big un next to the mini cat)

late december the sheaths were noticed and it only took a month before the first flowers opened..

and the plant as a whole looks like this, with 7 spikes and a total of about 25 flowers/buds in various stages of opening... apologies for the naff pic, but I don't have a big enough black fabric.

Of course it was a really bargain and a fortune. It's a wonderful plant and 7 spikes - awesome. :drool:
