Wonderful... wonderful and stunning!

Is the slipper really that fat relative to the other parts of the flower? Or is this to some extent due to optic/photographic illusion?
It’s a perspective thing. The pouch stays same while dorsal sepal and petals expand much more. Like the paws of a puppy lol.

Leslie, a flowering Paph. charlesworthii fma. sandowiae is always a great sight. Not sure about the 'stubby flower'.....this may be result of selection and some line breeding or just a trait by genes ? I do prefer the less 'bulldog' types....but like always.....beauty is in the ey of the beholder.

The flower will expand usually. This flower is not typical of the cultivar at this time. Let’s see what happens in a few days.
