Here again is my armeniacum from Tom Kalina. I am obsessed with it. It seems to have developed features I didn’t notice before: spotting inside the labellum, labellum has a cleft chin, the flowing waves of the sepals are more pronounced and, above all, it is SO MUCH BIGGER. It’s been open for a month and I am guessing the heat will take it out but oh, how I have enjoyed this beautiful entity’s journey from top-quality, perfect seedling to stunning early first-bloom. I think I managed to measure it better this time. Yes, I know I should have staked it but despite wise counseling, I didn’t feel confident to do so. I need a video or something. Next time! Thanks everybody.

Very cool! Don’t worry about the staking lol. Looks great au natural.

Can you take a clear pic of the staminode? And back of pouch?

I think, I said it before...but never the less: nice armeniacum!

Judges probably wouldn't be too happy about the shape of the dorsal - but it gives somehow the flower some character....a carefree, happy-go-lucky, slightly cheeky look! 😉

I agree! And this is just a first flower from a seedling and it faced stubborn mealybug infestation through its whole journey so I’m not unhappy at all! Thank you!!!!

Aw sure, here you go! And I also found, today, that a whole new growth had buried itself into the corner of the pot! The stolen is actually very tight to the mother but those first leaves were fully an inch deep! I wish I had photographed it buried before I panicked and lifted it out but I wasn’t sure in the moment what was happening.

Thanks for pics. The color is almost album except for the slight darker zones in staminode and brown dots inside pouch.
