This is the wardii that I purchased at the Atlanta show. It had three spikes when I bought it but only one actually opened. The other two got about a 1/4open and then blasted. Darn

any ideas?

Environment shock probable. I had 3 wardii's come in to bloom a round Aug/Sept. Two were real early and blasted from the "heat" of the season. the 3rd started later and finally opened up about 2 wks ago. I like the color combo on your new purchase. Here is mine.

That is a gorgeous flower, definitely on my want list! Bud blasting is so frustrating, though. I lost both buds on my gardenerii, and just last night figured out that it is a synonym of wilhelminae.
