Yang-Ji Apple X rothschildianum. First flowering seedling. A lot lighter than I expected. Reminds me of a pale St Swithin.

Had it been mine, I would personally have preferred a more saturatedly coloured pouch. What the rest of the floral features pertains, I can only echo David:

Beautiful form, and lovely flowers, but if you had asked me to guess, I would have said a straight St. Swithin. Philippinense is so dominant, it really wipes out the anitum and roth. Most of the Yang-Ji Apple’s I’ve seen have been pretty light as well. I wonder what the goal was for this cross?
