Jim,

If these are the from Chuck Ingram (usually ending up in a Batavia OS auction), I'm pretty sure they're boxallii. Whether you consider that taxon a species, variety, or form is up to you. I'd have to stare at the recent OD Averyanov article and the primary literature some more to decide for sure. Any other taxonomy opinions here??? I find the villosum complex dizzying.

Thanks Ernie....And yes it's from Chuck. I have another one from Hadley Cash at Marriott. The plants don't look the same when it blooms I'll try to compare them. Jim

I don't want to be rudd but I must ask. Is it my moniter or does this flower/plant have color break all over it? My picture looks really weird

Hadley's are villosums. Sweet ones at that!

It kind of looks like the "sharpness" of the picture was increased allot.

I agree. Over-sharpening makes it look artificial.
