This is by far my favorite unifloral species.

What is your culture? Did you mention on another thread that you grow it like a cattleya?

I grow them next to my roths for brighter than average light, they are in rockwool and perlite mix potted in wooden baskets for extra drainage and airflow. I water every morning when I get home from work with K Lite at 25ppm N, Kelp Max and Inocucor once a month, and occasionally substitute Cal Mag for K Lite. My greenhouse is cooled to 85 degrees, though I've seen short spikes into the low 90s during the hottest part of the day.

I had some trouble with them in the past when I tried growing them in regular pots with bark, I was so scared of overwatering them that I ended keeping them too dry. Switching to baskets has made growing them much easier for me as I can water them along with everything else.

awesome looking flower. I flowered my first one this year also... Would you mind keeping us posted as to the form of the petals? over the first few weeks they reflexed/twisted. not sure if that is normal or not. It held its flower for more than 2 months. very surprising...20190509_072604-small.jpg .

I'll try to remember to take new pics. I had another bloom earlier in the year and didn't notice any movement of the petals after the first few days, but I did pollinate it at about three weeks so maybe it didn't have enough time?

thanx for posting that... the right petal is the kind of reflexing i see in mine... not necessarily a bad thing just wondering if others had also seen that as 'normal'

This species is definitely one of those i won't mind having a few different variations... :)
