My lovely mother was kind enough to fund the acquisition of a few plants for my 21st birthday

Among the orchids:

Happy birthday. You have nice plants and a nice mom. However, in recognition of hitting 21, you might have set a bottle of beer next to the plant (for symbolic reasons only, of course), rather than a can of soft drink.
