Seems like all my slippers are late this year due to an unseasonably warm October. There are several more that are in low bud. This one decided to spike while I was away so I wasn't able to get it staked. Consequently there is a kink in the spike. :( It has 2 more spikes just starting to poke out. It would be nice if all 3 were in bloom at once. :)

It's late for them to be blooming now? I have one I very low bud, what does that make it, early for next years blooming? :rollhappy:

Yours is very nice and I hope mine will look something like yours, unless mine decides to blast its bud of course.

It's late for mine, not sure about yours or anyone elses. I just checked my database and it typically starts setting spikes in late September/early October, then again in May.

I'm sure yours will bloom out just fine. Sukhakuliis are pretty bomb proof.

Hmm... I've heard the same thing being said about wardii too, but mine blasted its flower when it was on the cusp of opening. My sukhakulii is a first bloomer, so I don't know if it's late for mine to initiate a spike either. ;)

Well, I'm thrilled if it doesn't blast and I'll get to enjoy it. Mine is a 'Graue', which tells me diddly squat about what to expect. I hope it'll be at least as nice as yours. :D

Jinx! :poke:
I'm jinxing them all, watch! :rollhappy:

In extremely low bud/low bud/bud:
schoseri
tonsum var. cupreum
callosum var. sublaeve
cerveranum
robinsonii
hainanense
vensutum
Ashburtoniae

hehehe

I like this one.

The petals are fairly wide, and seems like big spots in the middle with smaller around the edges.
