I measured the petals at 218 mm. This is longer than any St Swithin awarded in Australia which consists of 49 clones including a few FCC awards. Only a handful are greater than 200 mm. A lot are between 140-160 mm. The dorsal is larger than most but not the biggest. It is possible the flowers could get even bigger on a stronger plant.
But I think the judges are like you Rick. They like the petals to be a bit more lateral. Of the clones with photos, none looked like mine. Many of those smaller clones had quite horizontal petals.
