my spicerianum was just budding/opening when I left for new mexico; it's sized and formed up nicely while I was gone!

I just measured the flower and it's pretty large; spread top to bottom is 3", dorsal sepal is 2" wide and the petals are just under 2.5 inches. I think it's the largest spice flower I've had and is very symmetrical

The staminode and color are really different -- maybe just the lighting. But nice to come home to.

This is the dorsal sepal from the top

The staminode is bright white on the edges, bright yellow in the center and purple in between
