I got very excited when I discovered that the plant is maybe producing a flower spike, with many tiny "leaf/sheath" structure....if it's a spike, it only took me about 20 years to figure out how to grow this. In the 20 years, I was only able to find 3 Paph parishii in decent shape in Canada (Orchid Inn offered me one year, but it had no roots, so I didn't get it). This batch of Paph. parishii was from Paph Paradise in California purchased about 1.5 years ago, very good plants :) After killing parishii twice, I am hoping that third time is the charm. The brown stuff is cinammon.1677538863081.png

PaphParadise will be in Canada:

Canada orders
Gold Country Orchids will be speaking in Toronto at SOOS June 4, and will bring orders for us. The same weekend we will be in Calgary for their show. We will bring pre-orders and can make arrangements to get orders to folks in Western Canada.
We will take orders from March 15 -31.

This is probably better suited for the paph culture section then here but I feel the need to post it.
I find parishii to be one of multis that is prone to rot. The way I got around is the double pot method. See pics.

I use large Orchiata and super large sponge rock. I would use large charcoal as well but haven't found any in bulk size.
This 5 inch net is dropped into a standard tall 6 inch pot as seen here.

I'm sure one could still over water and in up with rot. That issue has been minimalize so far for me.

To stress my point, here is a second parishii. I also find they are very stingy with their roots production as well. Any root rot issues you can be in trouble quickly.

This one hasn't bloomed yet.
