This plant was offered on the EOS in Dresden (Germany) as Paph. papuanum

In the following table you can compare the papuanum (line 1) with Paph. violascens (line 2+3) from an orchidfriend...

Whats your mind? Its looks like different - two species --> papuanum and violascens?

In my opinion are all violascens.
Papuanum is compleately different.
I've seen plants of violascens from the same colony flowering with different shapes and particularly different staminode forms.

What's with the german grower with their violascens/papuanum??? lol
They almost non existance in the north america, and most are very weak clones. Trust me I already killed twice!! =(

I wonder what is their secret??

Looks exactly like the "papuanum" I got in the late 80's from Richard Topper. At that time, all papuanums turned out to be violascens.
