Very nicely flowered. How big is the flower? I am curious as to what species in it's background gave it it's unusual red coloring. Was it a vini maudiae type?

Paphiopedilum Orchilla was registered in 1962, which pre-dates the vinicolor callosum-jac-Maudiae type Paphs. Its a complex Paph with background breeding from charlesworthii, villosum, insigne, etc. that dates back to the 1870's or so, and there are some in the lineage with unknown parentage.

Flower size is about 13cm (5 inches) and with heavy substance.
