Paph Moustache

well, delurking is definitely paying off. I don't think I've paid this much attention to the slippers in quite some time......

I have a four fan Paph Moustache, the largest fan being about 20" in leafspan. Is this about blooming size? Maybe next year?

And if yes, the next question is: does it tend to bloom at a certain time of year? I'm guessing I'll have to mimic nature to give it some sort of seasonal trigger....

I should really stick to lowland java species.....

With the double dose of P. philippinense and a bit of roth for good measure? I'd vote for springtime. High light, cool drop in the evening probably wouldn't hurt it.

Of the 21 awards I could find for Paph. Moustache, 5 were awarded in February, 11 awarded in March, and 5 awarded in April. All venues were in the Northern Hemisphere.
