Paph Mem Heinie Christ

This is a seedling from Earl and Phyllis Bailey, OrchidBabies in AL. RHS lists Paph Mem Heinie Christ ( appletonianum X venustum ). Earl says he used a hainanense variation of appletonianum [ OB cross #6068 ] in making the cross.

This particular plant has two growths blooming in a 3 inch pot. Plant is diminutive, only 7 inches tall. Flowers have a ns of 2 - 3/4" - 7 cm.

the venustum seems quite recessive

Sweet flower. I'd love to see a larger number of the grex to compare this one to. Guess more will surface from time to time. It's not a big leap away from the hainanense parent.
